Weight Loss

The Problem

75% of British Adults are now overweight or obese – costing the government £7.4 million a year. In Britain alone we spent £20 million last year on weight loss and dietary control products. Ironically, it is estimated that less than 3% of those who lost weight, will keep weight off for 3 years or more. Imagine that. What industry can boast that kind of gross revenue with so little success? Only when it comes to weight issues do we accept that kind of failure and continue to throw money at it.

The fact is, repeated weight-loss dieting leads to higher and higher weight gains. Here are three reasons:

1) When the body is faced with constant deprivation, it automatically tries to conserve energy by slowing down the metabolism, instead of continuing to burn body fat. The longer people stay on low calorie diets, the longer it takes for their metabolism to return to normal. Thus, dieting predisposes people to rapid weight gains immediately following the loosening of food restriction.

2) Evidence indicates that when people lose weight, they lose fat and protein, but when hey regain, they regain mostly fat.

3) When weight is lost, the fat cells shrink, but when weight is regained, fat cells multiply. These "fattening" effects of weight loss are referred to as "overcompensation" that may mean the intention and effort to lose weight become a "never-win" distress.

Based on the statistics provided by the ANRED, Inc., after 2 years, 95% of dieters regain all their lost weight plus about 10 extra pounds; and after 5 years, 98% of dieters regain all their lost weight plus about 10 extra pounds.

The Solution

Overweight? It’s not your fault - but it is your responsibility. You have been living with “wonky” programming!!! It’s not about will-power, it’s about re-writing the operating system of your mind to become a naturally slim person – getting back to your body’s innate intelligence. We know what to do: eat right, exercise. Why DON’T we just do it?  It starts with our self-image. If we see ourselves as fat, lazy and ineffective, guess what? We are. It’s as simple as that. Therefore, the first thing that needs to change is our perception of our body. We need to begin with the belief that we can change. We must give up the old beliefs of big bones or family tradition of obesity etc. These self-perceptions are simply a way of justifying how you got to where you are but are not a good way of changing what you see when you look in the mirror. If you have been struggling with weight issues your whole life, you need to take some new direction on this issue.

Firstly - STOP Dieting. – Seriously! DIETS DON’T WORK!The fact is, repeated weight-loss dieting leads to higher and higher weight gains.

2) Evidence indicates that when people lose weight, they lose fat and protein, but when they regain, they regain mostly fat.

If you look on Amazon.com for a diet book, you will see a list of over 1,000 books all telling you how to lose weight the best way.  Diet books are just another form of recipe book and they will not make you lose weight. So forget about dieting, forever. Diets are no more than training courses on how to get fat and feel like a failure. It’s not about will-power and discipline. There are lots of disciplined overweight people in the world.

Be wary of anyone who offers a solution to your problem in pill form. Whether it is something to speed you up, suppress your appetite or bring you up (anti-depressants), it will not be a long-term solution. The odds are you will be back to the drawing board in a matter of time. You have been so brain-washed by the diet industry to believe that weight loss is difficult, you may at first, not understand this simple system.

Real long-term solutions to weight issues have to do with a realistic approach to eating, getting back to the innate intelligence of your body and a healthy self-image of the body combined with an active lifestyle. With the use of NLP, TFT and hypnotherapy, brain-train can help you overcome ingrained behaviour issues, learn the secrets of naturally slim people, install NLP techniques to easily lose weight and stay slim forever…
